Courtney M. Knight is an Associate in our Cherry Hill office concentrating her practice on education law and personal injury litigation.
Prior to joining the Firm, Courtney served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Deborah Silverman Katz, the Assignment Judge of Camden County, New Jersey. Through her clerkship, Courtney gained invaluable experience working on prerogative writ, tort, and OPRA cases, and assisting the Assignment Judge with the administration of the vicinage through research on employment law and policy implementation.
Formerly a counselor for homeless youth in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, Courtney worked closely with local School Districts to obtain needed services for her clients, including participating in IEP meetings, and negotiating the applicability of the McKinney Vento Act to ensure proper placement and transportation for her clients.
In preparation for her legal studies at Rutgers, Courtney became a paralegal at a personal injury firm in 2013 and continued training there until finishing law school in 2017. During those four years, she assisted with all aspects of litigation, and gained extensive experience with motor vehicle, construction site accident, and medical malpractice law.
In tandem with her legal studies, Courtney completed a Master’s of Science in Social Policy at The University of Pennsylvania in 2016, where her research concentrated on Education Law and Juvenile Justice. She also completed the International Comparative Law program at Monash University Law School, in Prato, Italy, where she studied Constitutional Law, Human Rights, and Alternative Dispute Resolution.
Courtney was born in Jersey City, raised in Marlton, and now resides with her husband in Oaklyn, New Jersey. In her free time, Courtney engages in local and national level politics and enjoys traveling.
