David J. Kass is an associate attorney with the firm’s New Providence, New Jersey office where he is a member of the firm’s Education Law, Municipal Law, and Labor & Employment Practice Groups.

On behalf of the firm’s private and public sector clients, David handles internal investigations related to hostile work environments and retaliation claims and the drafting and negotiating of employment agreements. He also provides advice and counsel on a variety of labor issues. For example, David conducts collective bargaining negotiations with public sector labor unions on public employers’ behalf, including forming proposals, engaging in negotiations, and contract drafting. In addition, he litigates grievance arbitrations arising from collectively bargained contracts.

David is a native of West Nyack, New York, and received his bachelor’s degree from the University at Buffalo, State University of New York.  David earned his Juris Doctor degree from Brooklyn Law School in 2019.

While at Brooklyn Law School, David served as a Student Attorney for the Disability & Civil Rights Clinic and interned with the New York County District Attorney’s Office. He also served as an Articles Editor on Brooklyn Law Review.

Before joining the firm, David served as a Law Clerk in the Morris-Sussex Vicinage for the Hon. Stuart A. Minkowitz, A.J.S.C. from 2019-2020, and the Hon. Maritza Berdote Byrne, P.J.Ch., from 2020-2021. David also assisted the Hon. Stephan C. Hansbury, J.S.C. (ret., temporarily assigned on recall) during his tenure with the Superior Court.

David is admitted to the New Jersey Bar.
