Heather J. Darling, Of Counsel to the firm, has a wide-range of legal experience including divorce and family law, civil litigation, general business and corporate law, criminal law,  and DUI/DWI defense.

Prior to joining the firm, Darling owned and operated her own law firm, the Darling Law Firm, LLC in Morris Plains, New Jersey. Upon opening her law firm in 2004, Heather began her practice in the frequently intertwined areas of family law and criminal law. She is a zealous advocate for her clients in any matter in which their rights, whether civil or criminal, are being infringed upon. Her experience includes thousands of hours per year each preparing for and appearing in NJ courts for criminal law matters, family law matters, and general civil matters.

Heather has placed an emphasis on community service throughout her career. She currently holds the elected office of Morris County Surrogate. Previously, Heather held the elected office of Morris County Freeholder from 2018 through 2019, as Deputy Director of the Freeholder Board in 2019. She has volunteered at the County College of Morris Women’s Center as a speaker on the topic of divorce and in the legal clinic where she assisted women considering, or going through, divorce. She served as an Early Settlement Panelist in Morris and Sussex and Special Civil Mediator using her background and knowledge to help other parties and their attorneys resolve disputes. Heather has also volunteered her time at the Morris County Housing Partnership assisting first time home buyers. For many years, she also served those in need as a pool attorney for the State of New Jersey Office of the Public Defender and was appointed to serve as the Roxbury Township Public Defender two days each month.

In addition to her public service and volunteer activities through the courts and their affiliates, Heather has also been involved in the Morris County community through participation on the Roxbury Economic Development Community, the Roxbury Zoning Board, the Morris County Chamber of Commerce, Leadership Morris, the Roxbury Chamber of Commerce, the Roxbury Dog Park Committee, and the Roxbury Environmental Committee.
