Philip Holahan Gertner is an associate in the firm’s New Providence, New Jersey office as a member of the Education Law and Municipal Law Practice Groups. As a member of these practice groups, Philip handles a variety of legal matters including general education law, real estate, labor and employment, discipline and harassment, governance, OPRA, litigation, and public contracting.

Before joining the firm, Philip was a pro bono attorney for Partners for Women and Justice, which is a non-profit public interest law firm that is dedicated to making a difference in the lives of domestic violence and sexual assault victims through legal representation, advice and counseling sessions, and by advocating for procedural and legislative change to benefit victims. In this role, Philip litigated cases from inception through trial. Prior to practicing law, Philip was a Law Clerk for a New York City law firm where he worked on litigation strategy, manufacturer issues, employee relations, risk assessment, and other complex areas of law for both insured and uninsured claims in the aviation industry. He also worked as a paralegal for several years before and during law school.

Philip received his J.D. from Rutgers Law School and his B.A. from Lehigh University. He is admitted to practice in New Jersey. His admission to the Florida and New York Bars is pending.
