  • One at One: NJ Family Leave Act & COVID-19

Today’s Issue:

Can an employee utilize the New Jersey Family Leave Act to take a leave of absence due to the COVID-19 pandemic?

Answer:

Yes. On April 14, 2020, Governor Murphy signed S2374 into law. The bill expands the Family Leave Act to allow employees forced to care for family members during the COVID-19 outbreak to take up to 12 weeks of family leave in a 24-month period without losing their jobs.
