One at One: Discovery in New Jersey Civil Law
Posted April 21, 2020
Today’s Issue:
Can discovery continue for civil litigation/cases pending before the New Jersey Law Division during the COVID-19 pandemic? ?
Answer:
Yes. The collection and exchange of discovery materials may continue. The Court ordered the that period from March 16, 2020 through April 26, 2020 may be excluded when computing discovery end dates, deadlines to respond to discovery requests, and ordered that the rules relating to discovery be relaxed. It was also ordered that where practicable, depositions should be conducted remotely and that court reporters may administer oaths remotely.
