Whether Governor Murphy’s directive that fully vaccinated individuals will not be required to wear masks or face coverings indoors applies to school buildings.

Answer:

No. Pursuant to Executive Order 242, effective Friday, May 28, 2021, individuals who are fully vaccinated may forgo wearing face masks or face coverings indoors; however, regardless of whether an individual is fully vaccinated, masks and face coverings are still required to be worn when inside school buildings, healthcare facilities, childcare settings, transportation hubs and while riding on public transit, among other exemptions.
