Mark Caliguire, Partner in the Phillipsburg office of Florio Perrucci Steinhardt Cappelli Tipton & Taylor, was sworn in for his second year as President of the Somerset County, New Jersey Park Commission. The swearing-in was part of the Park Commission’s annual reorganization meeting on Monday, January 6, 2020 at its North Branch Park headquarters in Bridgewater, New Jersey.

The Somerset County Park Commission mission is committed to excellence in promoting stewardship of land and resources, providing outstanding recreation opportunities and leisure services, and fostering an environment which is service-oriented and responsive to public needs. The Commission manages Somerset County’s 15,000 acres of parkland and open space, including five county golf courses and hundreds of recreational programs.

Caliguire has extensive experience in government affairs, administrative, corporate business law and litigation. He has a strong background in politics and government. In addition to being President of the Somerset County Park Commission, Caliguire served as a Somerset County Freeholder from 2011 to 2018, serving as Director of the Freeholder Board in 2015. He is the current chairman of the Montgomery Township Republican Committee. Caliguire previously served as a Township Committeeman and as Mayor of Montgomery Township. He also served as a member of the Board of Governors for Princeton Alliance Church and was appointed by President George W. Bush to the National Advisory Council of the U.S. Small Business Administration. Prior to joining the firm, Caliguire was General Counsel and Vice President of Government Affairs for Meadowlands Hospital Medical Center and the President of a multi-million-dollar company where he negotiated acquisitions, labor contracts and purchase agreements, and managed sales and product distribution. He started his legal career with the State of New Jersey Department of Law and Public Safety as Deputy Attorney General in the Division of Criminal Justice. Caliguire graduated from Georgetown University Law School and earned his undergraduate degree from Cornell University where he was Phi Beta Kappa.
