Christine Soto to Present at Hot Topics in Special Education Law 2020

On Wednesday, October 28, Christine Soto, a partner at Florio Perrucci Steinhardt Cappelli Tipton & Taylor LLC and Co-Chair of the firm’s Education Law Group, will be a presenter at the NJICLE Hot Topics in Special Education Law 2020 program. This CLE class, presented in cooperation with the New Jersey State Bar Association School Law Committee, will take place 9 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. via Zoom videoconference. Soto will discuss privacy issues in remote learning. Other topics that will be addressed at this program include social media, freedom of speech and special education students; equity issues and equal opportunity in services; and compensatory education.
Soto concentrates her practice representing New Jersey school boards on education law matters with an emphasis on special education, state and federal litigation, and legal counseling on an array of school law issues. Prior to joining the firm, Soto was the Executive Legal Affairs Officer for the New Jersey Department of Education. Before the NJDOE, Soto spent more than a decade as a special education parent attorney. She is admitted to practice in New Jersey, New York and Illinois. She is a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association – School Law Committee, the National School Boards Association Council of School Attorneys, and the Hispanic Bar Association of New Jersey. Soto earned her B.A. in English Literature from the University of Pennsylvania and received her J.D. from New York University School of Law.
