Florio Perrucci Steinhardt Cappelli Tipton & Taylor LLC welcomes Erin A. Berman and Jordynn E. Jackson to the firm.

Berman, Of Counsel to the firm, focuses her practice on education and special education law including student discipline and manifestation determinations, student residency, civil rights, disputes between districts, reductions-in-force, tenure issues, the School Ethics Act, and Board policies and regulations. She is also experienced in IDEA litigation, in particular, unilateral placement claims. Prior to joining the firm, Berman served as in-house counsel to a group of special education independent schools.  She began her legal career with an extended clerkship with the New Jersey Office of Administrative Law, which provided a strong foundation for her subsequent work in school law. Berman earned her J.D. from Rutgers School of Law, Newark, and her B.A. from Rutgers University, Douglass College. She is admitted to practice in New Jersey.

Jackson, an associate with the firm, concentrates her practice in civil litigation, education, labor and employment. She has appeared in State and Federal courts on a variety of civil litigation matters in New Jersey. Prior to joining the firm, she was a Deputy Attorney General with the New Jersey Office of the Attorney General. During her time as a Deputy Attorney General, Jackson defended the State of New Jersey, its agencies and employees in a wide variety of lawsuits involving Title 59, employment, and civil rights litigation. She began her legal career as a judicial clerk for the Honorable John G. Hudak in the Superior Court of New Jersey, Union Vicinage. She earned her J.D. from Rutgers School of Law and her undergraduate degree from Howard University. Jackson is admitted to practice in New Jersey.
