On April 28, 2021, Florio Perrucci Partner, Lester Taylor, will participate on a webcast entitled Representing School Employees and Boards of Education in Employment Law Cases. Presented in cooperation with the New Jersey State Bar Association Labor and Employment Law Section and the NJSBA School Law Special Committee, this program has been approved by the Board on Continuing Legal Education of the Supreme Court of New Jersey for 4.5 hours of total CLE credit. Taylor will join other esteemed panelists including Arsen Zartarian, Esq., Chair of the NJSBA School Law Committee and Counsel to Newark Public Schools; Maria M. LePore, Esq., Chief Counsel of the New Jersey Association of School Administrators; and Keith Waldman, Esq. of Selikoff & Cohen.

The panel will offer detailed information and practice tips on some of the hottest issues for 2021 that a lawyer needs to know to effectively represent school boards, teachers, supervisors, or other school employees. Topics will include return to work, accommodations, return to the classroom along with questions regarding COVID-19 vaccinations; Reduction in Force (RIF); teaching and the First Amendment: a segment focusing on social media, board ethics and unbecoming conduct, and a discussion of Ali v. Woodbridge and Rozenblit v. Lyles.

About Lester Taylor

Taylor, a named partner of the firm, represents counties, municipalities, and boards of education throughout New Jersey in matters related to general counsel services, special education, litigation, labor, employment, and redevelopment. Taylor served as Mayor of the City of East Orange, New Jersey from 2014-2017. Taylor has received numerous awards and recognition from various civic organizations and often volunteers his time speaking with students on the importance of education and developing leadership skills. Currently, Taylor serves on the Board of the Three Doctors Foundation, the United Way of Essex and West Hudson Counties, Sustainable Jersey, and Jersey Water Works. Taylor frequently attends and conducts legal seminars to stay abreast of changes in the law. He graduated from Montclair State University and earned his JD from Howard University School of Law.
