Carissa Thompson is an associate located in the firm’s Easton Office. Carissa earned her Juris Doctor (JD) from Regent University School of Law in Virginia Beach, Virginia, where she was a member of the Honors Program and received the Dean’s Academic Merit Scholarship. During law school, she held multiple leadership roles, including serving on the Executive Board of the Trial Advocacy Program. Following her training in trial advocacy by the Honorable Glen A. Huff (Ret.) of the Virginia Court of Appeals, she distinguished herself in two national trial advocacy competitions, where she and her team placed Top 5 in the country at both. Throughout law school, she gained valuable experience through in-house internships with both Daiichi Sankyo and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, where she conducted legal research on emerging federal and state laws and regulations related to business operations, reviewed and revised policies to promote risk mitigation and continued legal compliance, and assisted with regulatory compliance initiatives and policy development.

Prior to joining the firm, Carissa practiced at a New Jersey law firm representing clients in complex medical malpractice litigation. This experience provided her with a strong foundation in legal analysis, advocacy, and problem solving, which she now brings to her law practice at Florio Perrucci Steinhardt Cappelli & Tipton.

Before pursuing a legal career, Carissa earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Pennsylvania State University and worked as a Registered Nurse in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). In that role, she provided high-risk delivery support and neonatal resuscitation and managed the care of critically ill newborns of 22 weeks gestation or greater. Her clinical experience strengthened her ability to think critically under pressure, assess complex situations, and manage priorities with professionalism—qualities that continue to shape her approach to the practice of law.

Outside the office, Carissa enjoys traveling with her friends and walking her golden retriever, Nittany.
