Attorney Karasek was born December 1, 1951, was raised in the Borough of Bangor and has been a life-long Slate Belt resident. He is married with children and grandchildren and has lived in Upper Mount Bethel Township, Northampton County, PA since 1991.

As a young man, and he earned several honors and awards including The Outstanding Newspaper Boy – Easton Express – 1963; Eagle Scout with two palms with Boy Scout Troop 36 – 1965. He attended Pius X High School, in Roseto, PA, participated in the High School Glee Club, Lettered in Football and graduated in 1969 (ranked at No. 7 in his class) earning First Honors all four years.

After high school, he attended Villanova University (graduating magna cum laude in

1973 with a BA in Political Science) and continued his education at Temple University (graduating in 1976 with a J.D. Degree) where he distinguished himself as authoring the Best Paper in Environmental Law.

He has engaged in the general practice of law for fifty (50) continuous years (since

1976) at the same address in Bangor, PA. He is admitted to all Pennsylvania state and federal courts along with the U.S. Tax Court, the U.S. Court of Federal Claims, the U.S.

Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and the United States Supreme Court. He has extensive civil and criminal trial work along with administrative law proceedings. As a Northampton County Public Defender for ten (10) years, he handled major cases including felony and death penalty – homicide cases (to trial).

For the past twenty (20) years, he has engaged in significant municipal/public service work with the position of Solicitor to several Townships, Boroughs and Zoning Hearing Boards; and, was for a time, was the Solicitor to Northampton County Republican Executive Committee.

He has been actively involved with public service activities throughout his life including a Newspaper Carrier-Easton Express-1965, a Mass Altar Server, a High School Tutor, a Lector at Mass, a Cub Scout and Boy Scout Leader, a Little League Baseball Coach where, in 2006, he was nominated by the Express-Times for Baseball Coach of the Year.
