October 7th, 2021, Seth Tipton, a Partner of Florio Perrucci Steinhardt Cappelli Tipton & Taylor, spoke at the New Jersey Chapter of the Healthcare Financial Management Association Annual Institute. Tipton presented, What to Expect Now That Cannabis is Legal, with Sarah Trent of Valley Wellness and Jan Roberts, DSWE, LCSW. They discussed recent changes in New Jersey law regarding cannabis, as well as the challenges medical providers and practices face in recommending cannabis as a treatment for qualifying patients.  Seth and the panel also reviewed patient access issues, and the complicated rules regarding the intersection of the workplace and cannabis usage, intoxication and drug testing.

The 2021 Annual Institute was held in Atlantic City from October 6 – 8th in conjunction with the HFMA Metro Philadelphia Chapter.

About Seth Tipton

Seth R. Tipton is a Partner in the Bethlehem office and concentrates his practice in corporate law, health care law, real estate development and commercial lending. Tipton represents applicants for medical marijuana permits in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, guiding them on private business formation, capital raises, application requirements, legal and regulatory compliance, and real estate.  He is the immediate past co-chair the New Jersey State Bar Association Cannabis Law Special Committee. He also represents corporate clients in connection with formation, internal governance, and mergers and acquisitions, and has guided companies through digital auctions, preliminary negotiations, financing and closing of multi-million-dollar transactions. He also has experience with representing both lenders and developers in all phases of commercial real estate development, including guiding purchasers during due diligence, zoning, and planning applications, through to finalizing acquisition and construction loans. Prior to joining the firm, Seth served as a law clerk for the Honorable Ariel A. Rodriguez, Presiding Judge of the Appellate Division of the Superior Court of New Jersey. Tipton is a member of the Warren County, New Jersey and Northampton County, Pennsylvania Bar Associations, and of the Health Law Section of the American Bar Association. He graduated from Rutgers University, cum laude, and received his J.D. from Rutgers School of Law—Newark.
