Rob Devaney Discusses Personnel Issues for School Board Members

Florio Perrucci attorney, Rob Devaney, recently spoke at the New Jersey School Boards Association Board Leadership Conference. Rob’s program, Personnel Issues for School Board Members, addressed the critical roles that leaders of local boards of education have in their district’s personnel matters, including staff hiring, renewal/nonrenewal of staff, Donaldson Hearings, collective bargaining, and tenure.
The Leadership Conference was held at the Conference Center at Mercer County College.
About Robert Devaney
Robert Devaney concentrates his practice in labor & employment law, education & school law, and family law. Robert focuses a large part of his practice on working with Military Veterans with their labor, employment, and family law matters. Having served in the United States Marine Corps for nine years before receiving his Honorable Discharge, Rob has a unique understanding of the issues that Veterans face in these areas. For example, he serves as legal counsel to the New Jersey Veterans Network.
In the field of education and school law, Rob serves as general, labor, OPRA, and special education counsel to Boards of Education. He provides desk counseling services, handles harassment, bullying & intimidation investigations, faculty & staff disciplinary issues, student residency, board governance issues, OPRA requests, and litigation.
Rob is a member of the Middlesex County and New Jersey State Bar Associations, the Oliver Wendell Holmes, Jr. Society, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He is also active in several charities involving Veterans.
Rob received his A.A. in Education from Brookdale Community College, his B.A. in Political Science from Monmouth University, and his J.D. from Widener University, Delaware Law School.
He is admitted to practice in New Jersey.
