Robert Devaney Inducted into the Oliver Wendell Holmes, Jr. Society

On Friday, March 3, 2023, Robert Devaney, an Associate with Florio Perrucci Steinhardt Cappelli Tipton & Taylor LLC, was inducted into the Oliver Wendell Holmes, Jr. Society. The Holmes Society is comprised of former Middlesex County, New Jersey judicial law clerks who exhibit the qualities of “Service, Scholarship, and Jurisprudence.”

Before joining the firm, Devaney served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable John A. Jorgensen, II of the Middlesex County Superior Court – Family Division. Judge Jorgensen nominated and inducted Devaney “due to his nine-year service in the United States Marine Corps, his academic success in college and law school, and his dedication to continued learning and honing his craft in the law.”

At the induction ceremony, Devaney delivered a speech, Bravery on the Bench – Lessons from Oliver Wendell Holmes, Jr. on Being a Principled Jurist.

Devaney is a member of the firm’s Education Law and Municipal Law Practice Groups. He works on a variety of legal matters including labor and employment, discipline and harassment, governance, OPRA, and public contracting.

Devaney served in the United States Marine Corps from 2009 until receiving his Honorable Discharge in 2018.

He received his A.A. in Education from Brookdale Community College, his B.A. in political science from Monmouth University, and his J.D. from Widener University, Delaware Law School. He is admitted to practice in New Jersey.
