The attorneys in our real estate and land use practice group regularly represent clients in a diverse range of matters including land use approvals, negotiation and drafting of contracts, conveyances of title, construction and re-development, easements, licenses, land use and occupancy agreements, brokerage and commission agreements, all forms of partnership and joint venture agreements, lease agreements, commercial land acquisition, residential real estate transactions, financing and development, and zoning and planning issues. The firm’s extensive history of counseling clients is paired with our understanding that every client’s matter is unique, and demands a tailored approach.

In conjunction with the attorneys in the firm’s litigation group, the real estate and land use group has successfully represented clients in foreclosures, title disputes, land use litigation, defense and prosecution of real estate tax appeals, and negotiation of tax assessments. The group also benefits from drawing on the firm’s environmental attorneys. More often than not, environmental matters play an ever-increasing role in real estate transactions.

The firm has also been involved in the conversion of rental housing to condominiums as well as the sale of cooperatives on behalf of sponsors, owners and lenders including end-loan lenders. Our attorneys have represented clients, including federal government entities, in mortgage pool transactions, primarily involving single family loans, multi-family and strip shopping center mortgages, construction mortgages, and commercial mortgages.
